About

I am Ahmad ZamZam Jusoh. I build agentic RAG systems for high-stakes knowledge work — such as Malaysian legal practice, sustainability certification, and financial services compliance. Twenty-five years of production engineering before that, mostly on systems that had to keep being right.
Why agentic engineering, why now
The shape of software is changing. The discipline of running production systems — uptime, data correctness, audit trails, customer expectations — does not go away with LLMs in the loop. If anything it gets sharper.
Domain expertise is the real differentiator in the age of AI, and shipping software that works in the real world is still the bar.
I work deep in the modern AI stack — Claude Code, the Anthropic API, agentic workflow design, RAG over normative text, LangGraph, CrewAI, MCP server integration. The thread joining all of it to twenty-five years of enterprise work is the same one: production systems still have to keep being right.
Practice
I take on a small number of agentic AI engagements per year, focused on RAG systems for legal practice, sustainability certification, and financial services compliance. The work spans architecture, build, and the production hardening that decides whether the system actually gets used. See the Sarawak Labour Ordinance case study for a worked example of how I approach this kind of project.
Background
The practice rests on twenty-five years of enterprise software work — mostly on long-lived line-of-business systems that have to keep being right.
Designing and maintaining insurance software for UK and international markets. Java, Spring, Camel, Hibernate, Activiti, OpenShift, modern CI/CD. Long-lived line-of-business systems where data correctness is the contract.
Architecture and end-to-end delivery for the SaaS portfolio. Cross-functional engineering management.
E-Perunding at the Ministry of Finance. IGW (USSD 111) and Mobile Number Portability at Celcom. Card Distribution and Customer Sales Prospecting at Telekom Malaysia.
Application Specialist at INTERXS attached to Celcom, then in-house at Celcom building the Integrated Business Solution SMS Gateway. Telco-grade integration is what taught me what production really costs.
Outside work
I run a few side applications on AWS and DigitalOcean, give occasional Java and JavaScript training, and write occasionally about engineering, family, faith, and the long view. I trained national competitors for the ASEAN Skills Competition in 2016.
